Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Electrical Project Engineer specializing in Industrial Control and Automation. The role of Electrical Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing the electrical engineering aspects of ATRON's industrial control and automation projects. This role will focus on creating automation solutions for complex industrial processes, including PLC programming, HMI design, SCADA systems, and integrating these systems. This includes the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems for our high-pressure industrial gas compressors packaging business and related equipment. The role requires extensive technical knowledge in electrical systems, power distribution, control systems, and safety protocols, with a focus on high-pressure applications.

Qualifications

  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial controls engineering or automation, including PLC programming, HMI design, and SCADA systems integration.
  • Proven experience with medium-voltage systems, electrical controls, automation, and instrumentation.
  • Hands-on experience with various PLC platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, Omron and etc).
  • Familiarity with HMI design and SCADA systems, including configuration and integration for real-time process monitoring and control.
  • Experience in troubleshooting, system optimization, and performance monitoring in industrial automation systems.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
  • Strong knowledge of control system architecture, PLC programming (ladder logic, structured text, function block diagrams), and HMI design principles.
  • Expertise with Schneider Electric, EcoStruxure Machine Expert Software (formerly SoMachine)
  • Expertise with Siemens Totally Integrated Automation (TIA)
  • Expertise in electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations (e.g., UL508AS UL891, NEC, IEC, ATEX, etc.).
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus, PROFIBUS, OPC).
  • Experience in using electrical design software. (AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks, etc.)
  • Understanding of electrical systems and instrumentation used in industrial processes.
  • Understanding of high-pressure compression /rotating equipment and electrical systems design is a plus.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and diagnostic skills.
  • Certifications:
  • Professional certifications such as International Society of Automation (ISA) Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST), Siemens TIA Portal, or Schneider Electric EcoXpert certification are a plus.
  • UL 508a, 891 Manufacturer's Technical Representative (MTR) certificate a plus.
  • Additional certifications in safety standards (e.g., NFPA 70E, IEC 61508) are beneficial.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to travel to job sites for system commissioning, installation, and troubleshooting. (
