- Ability to work independently and with others, with a minimum level of supervision.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for client contact.
- Extensive knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
- Knowledge and high degree of skill in determining project requirements, setting the project scope of work, determining design budgets, determining preliminary construction budgets, and review of contracts.
- High degree of skill in managing multiple objectives, clients, contractors, third parties and internal project team members.
- Ability to complete projects on time and on budget while meeting project goals.
- High degree of understanding and ability to communicate and coordinate with other Division and members of the Design Team.
- Aware of and able to comply with the overall project construction and design budget, schedule, and contract requirements.
- Prepare Engineers Opinion of probably cost for responsible section of work.
- Incorporate / adapt / develop schematic design and design development work with project team to produce final construction documents.
- Must be familiar with the following areas: Site Power Distribution, Building Power Distribution, Lighting Design, Grounding Systems, Fire Alarm Device Layout, and Code Analysis.
- Development of short circuit, arc flash, and coordination study with SKM/ETAP.
- Perform quality control reviews at appropriate milestones.
- Coordinate team members to achieve project goals and schedules.
- Detail specific components of engineered systems.
- Knowledge of control systems and special system components related to discipline.
- Heavily involved in development of junior staff.
- Produce computerized calculations and equipment selections.
- Write, edit, and coordinate contract specifications.
- Incorporate design concepts and documents from schematic design information.
- Conduct field survey to document existing conditions.
- Research code issues, ability to troubleshoot and solve field issues.
- Conduct submittal reviews and approvals.
- Conduct onsite compliance inspections and final punch list.
- Solid AutoCAD and Revit skills a plus.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a B.S. Degree in an appropriate field of study from an accredited college is required.
- Minimum of four years of related experience.
- Professional Engineering Licensure in the location of practice.
