In addition, you will take on design tasks for specific projects as a working engineer.Salary: Starting at $120,000-$160,000Hours: Business hours - Monday-Friday, standard 40-hour work week with occasional OT. - Continually improve engineering standards and processes
- Technical oversight of electrical manufacturing and testing requirements
- Design for manufacturability and work closely with manufacturing team for continual advancement of new ideas and process automation
- Responsible for engineering documentation controls
- Research and develop designs and products
- Determine the need for training and talent development
- Develop engineering team performance evaluations and benchmarks
- Oversee and manage quote reviews
- Hire required personnel and build teams
- Ensure products have the support of upper management
- Provide clear and concise instructions to engineering teams
- Check team's work for technical accuracy
- Coordinate work within the team and with other managers
- Project progress/timelines to handoff to manufacturing
- Monthly customer visits with sales reps
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven work experience as an Engineering Manager or similar role
- Proven experience (minimum of 5 years) Industrial Controls design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical.
- Ability to program PLCs. HMIs, Controllers, and VFDs
- Strong understanding of UL508A and NFPA 79
- Analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems
- Communication skills for overseeing staff and working with other management personnel
- Detail-oriented with the ability to catch minor errors which can result in major problems
- Proficiency in advanced applied mathematics
- Organizational skills for keeping track of various budgets, employees, and schedules simultaneously
- Relevant training and/or certifications as an Engineering Manager
- Experience in the ISO 9000 family of standards is desirable
