Electrical Technician

The Musco Mobile Team is currently seeking a Electrical Technician to work from our Mobile Shop in Oskaloosa. This is a hands-on position to assist with the manufacture and maintenance of high-tech mobile lighting equipment used in a rental environment. What you will do as a Electrical Technician:
* Assist in the building of new electrical systems and components along with maintenance of existing equipment
* Confirm equipment leaving for jobs is safe and ready for use.
* Ability to read and understand electrical prints and schematics
* Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems
* Assist with the setup, programming and troubleshooting of PLCs, DMX controls, LED drivers / controllers and Industrial CPUs
* Act as technical support for technicians on the road
* Able to operate diesel generators, hydraulic cranes, electrical distribution and control systems, shop equipment, hand tools, man lifts, forklifts, company vehicles, rental cars, computer and iPads
* Assist in the maintaining of shop electrical inventory levels and the organized warehousing of equipment and spare parts.
* Some travel and field work as demand dictates. Field work will include longer or odd hours, holidays and nights
* Other duties as assigned
What you need to be successful:
* 2 or 4 year degree in Electronics/Robotics/Electrical, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Networking, or related field. Lighting Design a plus.
* Strong Electrical and/or Electronics background is required.
* General proficiency in computer skills
* Experience with DMX, ETC hardware and software, and/or lighting design a plus.
* Experience with Omron PLCs, JavaScript, IP Networking / Wi-Fi, Python Scripting a plus.
* Strong organizational skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Good interpersonal skills ability to work well with internal and external team members and with customers on jobsites
* Strong attention to detail
Other Special Requirements:
* Travel is a job requirement and expect it to be a minimum of 60-90 days per year or more.
* Weekend travel will be required.
* Some international travel may also be required.
