Under general supervision inspect, test, repair and install lighting and power distribution units, equipment and appliances. Establishes and maintains positive relationships with patients, visitors and other employees. Interacts professionally, courteously, and appropriately with patients, visitors and other employees. Behaves in a manner consistent with maintaining and furthering a positive public perception of BronxCare Health System and its employees.
Responsibilities:
Inspect, repair and maintain all electrical equipment associated with the facility, such as motors, lighting fixtures, fuses, circuit breakers, fire alarms, plugs, insulators, etc. Trouble shoots for electrical defects all electrical equipment associated with the facility.Installs new electrical systems and equipment.Keep detailed records of test and maintenance of electrical equipment related to the facility
Qualifications:High School or GED required.
Has worked a minimum of five (5) years as an Electrician or
A minimum of four (4) years as an Electricians Helper or an Apprentice Electrician
Understand and use electrical plans, diagrams and equipment manuals
Familiar with New York City Electrical Code
Has institutional experience, preferably hospital experience
Preference will be given if experience includes hospital systems and electrical safety testing.
