As a crucial part of our team, you'll be hands-on in the maintenance process, troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing machines and equipment throughout the mill. This position primarily focuses on controls and electrical systems.   • Have a good working knowledge of the tasks required to perform on all phases of electrical work in accordance with the latest edition of the American Electricians' Handbook, Local and National Electrical Codes.
  • Working knowledge of electrical theory, and the associated principles, materials, and equipment
  • Troubleshoot, assemble, install, test and maintain electrical, equipment components, and circuits.
  • Must have knowledge of instrumentation and process controls
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components
  • Must be able to install, calibrate & tune variable speed drives
  • Must have knowledge of AC and DC power circuits
  • Must be able to install conduit, duct, and control power
  • Must be able to read blueprints, electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Related PLC experience to understand, and troubleshoot ladder logic desired
  • Ability to make minor mechanical, piping and electrical repairs
  • Perform business management duties such as maintaining maintenance records and files, preparing reports, ordering supplies and equipment.
  • Must follow all plant safety procedures, and all applicable regulatory policies .
  • Monitor and maintain temperature and pressure on plant control systems
  • Monitor and maintain mill air pressure and water pressure
  • Ability to fire the mill boiler and maintain steam pressure
  • Know where and how to reset individual motors throughout the mill
  • Oil and grease motor bearings as required
  • Ability to use Ohmmeter, Voltage Tester, Multimeter, Megohmmeter, Pneumatic, Hand and Power Tools, Calibration and Testing Instruments
Minimum qualifications:
  • Journeyman Electrician Card preferred
  • Have own set of tools
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of electrical field experience with an emphasis in controls and electrical systems is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English.
  • Perform math calculations including addition, subtraction, multiple, and divide all units of measure using whole, fractions and decimals.
  • Willingness and ability to work 8 hours shifts Monday-Friday, be on a 24 hour on-call rotation (additional pay), rotating weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • All candidates must pass pre-employment screening, drug screen, physical and criminal background screening.
Physical demands and Working conditions:
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and lift up to 100lbs with assistance.
  • Physical demands include standing for long periods of time, walking, using hands and arms to handle, feel or reach, climb, balance, stoop, knee, crouch, and/or crawl in confined spaces.
  • Exposure to moderate frequent noise and occasional loud noise, dust, heat, cold, dry and damp air.
