Job Description:
This position reports to the Vice President. In this role, the Lead Electrician shall supervise Electrical Apprentices while troubleshooting, installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment. Responsibilities and Essential Duties: Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following: Use appropriate tools, relevant plans, and written and verbal instructions to service, replace, inspect, and test electrical systems, equipment, and components, and to detect and resolve malfunctions and deficiencies. Diagnose causes of electrical problems or failures for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or system repairs. Interpret electronic, electrical, and mechanical schematics and drawings. Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring systems, related switches, distribution panels and outlet boxes, and a wide variety of electrical fixtures. Plan, organize, and oversee electrical installations and repairs in residential and commercial properties following all applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, and quality standards. Supervise a team of electricians and provide guidance and training as needed relevant to general procedures, safety procedures, internal controls, and machine operations. Ensures that work performed is accomplished efficiently with a minimum amount of disruption and inconvenience. Troubleshoot electrical issues and develop effective solutions. Coordinate with Project Managers, Clients, and other contractors to ensure timely project completion. Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used. Maintains tools, equipment, and a clean work area. Inspect jobs upon completion to ensure area is clean. Qualifications and Other Skills and Abilities: High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of two (2) years' experience and proficient knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and safety regulations. Proven experience as an electrician in residential and commercial settings. Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to supervise, oversee, train, and coach the Electrical Apprentices. Ability to coordinate and supervise projects as assigned. Excellent problem-solving and problem resolution skills. Ability to be flexible with tasks on hand, multi-task, and prioritize. Ability to learn quickly, follow instructions, and work safely with minimal instructions. Must have OSHA 30 training (provided) Essential Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to work in an environment which may include fumes, odors, chemicals, sawdust, and ash. Ability to work in an environment with noises in the range of thirty to eighty five decibels. Ability to lift or push up to thirty (30) pounds, or in excess thereof, with the use of proper equipment or assistance. Ability to use hand tools safely. Ability to use electric tools safely. Ability to walk up and down steps, climb ladders, staging and scaffolding and on uneven ground. Ability to bend, twist, reach, stretch and work in tight spaces. Ability to drive a motor vehicle.
