Location: Clearwater,FL, USA
This position is located in Real Estate Management, within the Facility Operations Division. REM FO provides professional in-house and contracted services to maintain and operate County buildings. This is journeyman level electrical work in the installation, alteration, maintenance and repair of electrical systems, fixtures and equipment. Employees in this class work in accordance with standard trade practices and within the safety guidelines of the NEC.
This position requires knowledge and experience of the installation, alteration, repair and maintenance of electrical building systems, subsystems and associated components in accordance with standard trade practices and within the safety guidelines of the NEC. The employee in this position will be required to provide occasional leadership over one or more helpers or peers as needed and on work assignments.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 12:30 pm - 9:00pm
What Would You have To Do?
* Performs skilled work in one or more complex combinations of assignments in construction, maintenance and repair of buildings and buildings systems.
* Performs the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems within large facilities.
* Performs preventative maintenance on electrical or pneumatic systems.
* Makes repairs to electrical systems, switches, circuit breakers, fuse boxes and lighting equipment in buildings.
* Utilizes various hand tools and test equipment.
* Communicate the status of work assignments and manage your timecard using a computer.
* Assists other technicians in operation, maintenance and repair of heating, refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment.
* Plans, layouts and installs conduit and appurtenances up to 4-inch in size
* Purchases, plans, and orders a wide range of construction and maintenance materials, supplies, and inventory necessary for a project.
* Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics and equipment diagrams.
* Performs related work as assigned, or required.
What Do You Need To Have?
Electrical trades' experience that includes six (6) months as a team leader or supervisor.
* 3 years of experience as described above.
* Associate's degree, trade school, or vocational training degree, diploma, or certificate that includes at least 1 year of experience as described above.
* Bachelor's or higher-level degree.
* An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
* Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations.
Highly Desirable
* 3 or more years of experience in maintaining and repairing of industrial controls for lighting and motors.
* Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair building systems with use of blueprints and schematics and technical references.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Knowledge of standard practices, materials, tools and equipment of the electrical trade and local and national electrical.
* Knowledge of occupational hazards and appropriate safety precautions, to include working with low and high voltage power systems.
* Knowledge of work hazards and safety associated with crafts, trades and facilities work.
* Knowledge of tools, power tools and materials used in skilled trade work.
* Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and practices for building, electrical and mechanical work.
* Skill in the use and care of standard tools, equipment and testing devices of the electrical trade.
* Ability to work from oral or written instructions, broken parts or basic diagrams and sketches.
* Ability to troubleshoot defects in machinery and equipment operation, make proper repairs and adjustments, and complete assignments.
* Ability to lead helpers and others to complete assignments, keep basic records and do heavy manual work.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics, equipment diagrams, draw sketches of proposed projects plan assignments, order materials and understand and follow oral and written instructions.
* Ability to plan and execute facility maintenance or construction work plans.
* Ability to operate a personal computer and other automated systems to monitor work, enter and retrieve information.
* Ability to interpret drawings and blueprints, prepare work specifications and estimate material needs.
* Ability to install, alter, repair, and maintain a variety of electrical systems and equipment.
* Ability to endure long periods of standing, walking or working in inclement weather and possession of sufficient physical strength and agility to lift and move heavy objects.
* Ability to detect problems and repair machinery and equipment.
* Ability to communicate orally and in written form to impart information, write reports, etc.
* Ability and strength to climb ladders and perform heavy manual labor for extended periods.
