Duties
  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses, analyzes, and identifies system malfunctions to determine the source and cause of the problem.
  • Possess ability to interpret instructions and specifications related to facility structures and equipment using technical references, documentation, blueprints, and operational procedures.
  • Performs installation of new equipment, maintenance, repair, overhaul or replacement of parts, systems, equipment, etc., normally associated with the building, grounds, and utilities of such facilities.
Requirements Conditions of Employment
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires a valid State motor vehicle operator's license.
  • Works inside and outside during the day or night, subject to inclement weather on high structures usually over water which is frequently turbulent in the proximity of moving machinery and high places.
  • Must be willing to take and pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and must be willing and able to pass random drug and alcohol tests thereafter.

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.Minimum Qualifications: Ability to do the work of a(n) Electrician without more than normal supervision. The ability to perform normal diagnostic inspections and can perform these duties independently. The ability to work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.Physical Effort:
  • Work requires frequent standing, stooping, stretching, climbing, and crouching. Lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally lifts, and carries larger assemblies or complete units exceeding 50 pounds. Uses coordination of eyes, hands, legs, and body in installing, repairing, operating, or testing equipment in confined spaces such as manholes, machinery recesses, lock walls, or on overhead structures; climbs ladders, scaffolding, and works from suspended stages.
