Maintain, repair, and install electrical equipment in the hospital buildings, as per any applicable codes and standards.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Replace faulty switches, sockets, fuses, insulators, and other elements of electrical systems, fixtures and appliances.
+ Inspect, test, and repair electrical circuits, lighting, signal, communication, control and power circuits and equipment.
+ Accountable for the safe operation and maintenance of the hospital's electrical systems and equipment.
+ Record personal work orders and submit hours to supervisor on a daily basis.
+ Order material necessary for any job.
+ Responsible for setting-up appropriate level of infection control containment (ICRA) based on risk level, maintaining the integrity of that containment, and performing all work following infection control procedures.
+ Repair and/or install conduit, fittings, motors, generators, transformers, electrical wiring and a variety of appliances and hospital equipment.
+ Isolate defective wiring, switches, motor and other electrical equipment.
+ Operate switchgear and electrical machinery.
+ Install new wiring and electrical machinery.
+ Repair and maintain building fire alarm system as per NFPA standards.
+ High school diploma or GED required.
+ Trade school, Vo-Tech or union approved apprenticeship required.
+ Must have three to four years of hospital or industrial work experience.
+ Ability to read and understand blueprints and electrical diagrams required.
+ Knowledge of City, State and Federal codes is required.
