Johnson Electric (JE) is seeking an enthusiastic Electro-Mechanical Lab Technician to join our team in Vandalia, Ohio. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our research and development initiatives for the regional motor and solenoid team. As an integral member of our engineering group, you will collaborate with regional engineers to develop exciting new technologies and applications through benchmark testing, retrofitting, and prototype fabrication.
Your responsibilities will be to:
* Assemble and solder electronic components and circuits based on engineering schematics and diagrams.
* Ensure precise connections and adherence to quality standards.
* Work closely with Application & Design Engineers to assist in the development and testing of prototypes.
* Collect product performance data using dynamometers and power analyzers.
* Run CFM (cubic feet per minute) chamber tests to evaluate fan performance.
* Provide hands-on support during the fabrication of proof-of-concept samples.
* Perform routine maintenance and calibration of lab equipment.
* Ensure all tools and instruments are in optimal working condition.
Our requirements:
* Strong knowledge of lab procedures and techniques.
* Familiarity with basic component fabrication and assembly.
* Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing using rapid prototyping tools.
* Ability to analyze data and troubleshoot issues.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a global team.
* Knowledgeable in soldering techniques and electronic components.
Would be advantageous:
* Associate degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or relative experience
* AC and DC voltage experience
