With great pay, outstanding work schedule (primarily Monday-Thursday, days) and a location in the DFW, TX area, this is a Tier one opportunity.Position title: Electro-Mechanical Technician (Heavy emphasis on the electro part)Location: Krum, TX.In this role, the candidate performs test relays for accuracy, perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and unscheduled troubleshooting on, relays, and other equipment. You will also install relay equipment, and perform other duties as required.Tasks, duties, and responsibilities:- Conduct routine testing and maintenance of electrical equipment, controls, wiring and fuses- Perform routine calibration and repair of electromechanical, solid state and microprocessor-based relays- Verify proper operation and reliability of circuit switchers, motor operated air switches, and associated equipment- Assist in setting and maintaining schedules to perform periodic accuracy checks and calibrations of system protection devices and energy/power quality instrumentation- Perform electrical test, calibration, and repair on 15kv and 27kv reclosers, ranging from oil circuit reclosers to microprocessor controlled/vacuum interrupter reclosers- Perform electrical tests, repair, and verify proper electrical operation of 69kv to 345kv OCBs and GCBs- Perform electrical tests, repair, and inspection of windings and tap changers on transformers and regulators and mobile substations- Test and repair load tap changer and regulator controls ranging from electromechanical to solid stateInstallation of new relay and equipment:- Install and verify proper operation of all types of relaying schemes for line, transformer, and under-frequency- Perform installation and validation of settings changes requested by engineering or member cooperative and report any discoveries out of tolerancevalues or mis-operation conditions - Install and maintain associated equipment, such as electronic recorders, pulse multipliers, and transducersRecord keeping duties:- Maintain files on test records and equipment manuals- Understand all compliance requirements and necessary documentation.- Assist in substation construction or upgrades- Install all control house fixtures and hardware associated with metering and relaying, such as relay panels, battery bank, cable tray, lighting, and station service equipment- Run conduit (underground and above ground) and pull and terminate all control wiring in control house and yard.Base salary, plus overtime, and great benefits.
