Sonalysts, Inc. is seeking candidates to join the Analysis and Engineering team in our Waterford, CT location.You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and subject matter experts to conduct innovative research, design, and assembly of electromechanical systems. In a part-time on call role, you will assess the quality of the work and confirm it meets all requirements.Local candidates preferred.General responsibilities of the Quality Specialist include:Managing the ISO 9001 program.Inspecting incoming materials, Work in Progress (WIP), final inspection and creation of Certificates of Conformance (CofC's).Establishing strategies to improve efficiency and profitability in the organization, as well as put out higher quality goods.Developing quality control policies and processes for the company to follow.Overseeing quality control processes; Training staff members on quality control; and Auditing these processes.Assessing system operational data and identifying quality problems.Testing and sampling products, ensuring they meet set standards and specifications.Confirming all products are properly packaged, have appropriate paperwork (CofC's), and labeled before delivery.Investigating customer complaints when/if necessary.Maintaining quality logs and responses to non-conformances.Standing up a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System and transitioning from the existing ERP.Assist in the day-to-day operations in the electronics production area.W hat's In It For You?Contribute to the growth and development of our electromechanical systems development team.Work on challenging and innovative projects for research and production, ensuring quality without compromise.The part-time hourly rate is based on the annualized salary. At a minimum, the candidate must possess the following:5 Years experience in managing an ISO 9001 system to include assessing the quality of work in electromechanical systems production and confirming products meet all requirements.Must be a U.S. citizen, eligible for a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance*Any of the following qualities are also highly desired:Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment and/or Department of Defense (DoD) engineering processes.Ability to read and interpret Mechanical and Electrical drawings, technical documents, and manuals.Experience in the use of calibrated equipment such as calipers, verniers, depth gauges, radius gauges for incoming material acceptance.Experience in fabrication, assembly, troubleshooting, maintenance and/or testing of electronic assemblies/components.2M and/or J-STD certification in the following: hand soldering and J-STD 001, 600, 610, 620.Experience with Solidworks™ 3D design software including Electronics and Schematics design packages.Experience with sourcing materials and inventory control.*Obtaining a U.S. Government security clearance involves a comprehensive background check.
