Electromechanical Technicians to support NAVAIR in
Indianapolis, IN.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Supports engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. Applications may include electronic circuits, photonics and logic systems. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Collects, maintains, organizes, compiles, and manipulates technical data. Prepares engineering documentation, reports, drawings (sketches/flow charts/diagrams/schematics, etc.). Performs mathematical calculations per engineering specifications. Undertakes analyses of data where guidelines are provided.
JOB DUTIES:
- Building, repairing, troubleshooting avionics electronic systems.
- Working with I-level test sets, Arm 101A, B, CATS test set, MK 48 test set, Angry Kitten test set, and sub-assemblies.
- Building cables and full up items with the fleet.
Qualifications REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE: - HS/GED and (5) five years related experience; OR Associates degree in a related discipline and three (3) years' experience.
- Preferred background as a Navy or USMC Aviation Electronics technician.
- 6-8 years of electronics experience preferred.
- Candidate must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Technical Skills-Component Level Troubleshooting.
- Certification _ J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, or IPC-7711B/7721B.
