TSC is seeking a Electronic Spectrum Engineer, in King George, VA This position supports the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division. Responsibilities: The position will focus leading current and future radar system design and production. The position will support technology developments, technology insertions, prototyping and technology demonstrations in support of a mission critical and highly visible new program. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Focus on providing solutions for spectrum management including spectrum allocation, de-confliction and optimization of spectrum usage throughout system and ship development, integration, testing, verification, validation, certification, fielding and areas of exploitation.
- Radar system engineering, design, analysis, and specification development.
- Complex radar system Software requirement definition and allocation calculations.
- Analyzing and reporting radar performance using MATLAB.
- Performing Verification, Validation and Accreditation (VV&A) o(f?) Radar models.
- Formulating complex calculations and knowledge of practices/principles necessary to assess advanced sensor systems concepts, assess specifications and perform system integration.
Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, computer or electronics engineering. Other acceptable majors include mathematics, computer science or physics.
- A minimum of 15 years electrical engineering experience (12 years with accredited master's degree, 8 with an accredited Ph.D degree) preferably with a focus on communications spectrum management.
- A minimum of active secret clearance and US Citizenship required
- Experience in communications spectrum management
Preferred Qualifications: - Vast experience in Electromagnetic Compatibility and RF Coupling for military applications.
- Specialized knowledge concerning Navy spectrum usage for sensing and communications along with an expert understanding of spectrum vulnerabilities, spectrum degradation and optimization, and spectrum maneuverability.
- Knowledge of complex radar system software requirement definition and allocation.
- Working knowledge of collecting radar IQ data from RF and network taps.
- Demonstrated knowledge analyzing and reporting radar performance using MATLAB.
- Experience performing verification, validation and accreditation (VV&A) or radar models.
- Experience and ability to perform detailed complex calculations and knowledge of practices/principles necessary to assess advanced radar systems concepts, assess specifications and perform system integration.
- Knowledge of U.S. Navy or U.S. Coast Guard Fleet Operations desired.
