DescriptionPosition Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electronic Technician / Lab Manager to oversee the daily operations of our electronic manufacturing, testing and calibration laboratory, in compliance with our ISO9001/2015 processes. This dual-role position requires a balance between hands-on technical work and effective laboratory management, ensuring that the lab operates efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. Key Responsibilities:
  • Laboratory Management:
    • Oversee the daily operations of the temperature/pressure calibration lab, scheduling, equipment maintenance, and inventory management.
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proper handling of electronic components and hazardous materials.
    • Develop and implement laboratory protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
    • Coordinate with other departments to schedule and prioritize lab activities.
    • Manage laboratory budget, including procurement of equipment, tools, and materials.
  • Technical Responsibilities:
    • Assemble, test, troubleshoot, and repair electronic circuits, devices, and systems.
    • Conduct experimental setups and assist in product development and testing.
    • Document test results, maintain accurate records, and prepare technical reports.
    • Provide technical support and training to other team members and departments.
  • Inventory and Equipment Management:
    • Monitor inventory levels of tools, and supplies.
    • Order and restock lab materials as necessary to prevent shortages.
    • Maintain an organized and clean laboratory environment.
    • Ensure that all lab equipment is functional and properly maintained.
  • Quality Assurance and Safety:
    • Implement and monitor quality control processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of lab results.
    • Enforce safety protocols and promote a culture of safety within the lab.
    • Regularly inspect lab equipment and workspaces for potential safety hazards.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with engineers, researchers, and other stakeholders to support project requirements.
    • Assist customers in the application and support of our products
    • Communicate lab capabilities, progress, and findings to management and other teams.
    • Lead and mentor junior technicians and interns, providing guidance and training.
  • Qualifications:
    • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
    • Experience: Minimum of [3] years of experience in an electronics lab environment, with at least [3] years in a supervisory or management role.
    • Technical Skills:
      • Proficient in electronic manufacturing, troubleshooting, and repair.
      • Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, etc.
      • Strong understanding of electronic components, schematics, and PCB layouts.
    • Management Skills:
      • Proven ability to manage lab operations, including scheduling, electronics manufacturing and budgeting.
      • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
      • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
    • Other Requirements:
      • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
      • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
      • Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
    Work Environment:
    • The position is based in a manufacturing environment, requiring the use of various electronic testing and diagnostic tools.
    • Occasional lifting of equipment and materials may be required.
    • Must adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
