Interns will gain hands-on experience and develop their skills under the guidance of an experienced Electronics Technician Leader with the possibility of joining our team as an Electronics Technician Senior with us upon graduation!The Nebraska Department of Transportation provides the best possible transportation system for the movement of people and goods that promotes safety, mobility, and economic growth, which enhances the quality of life for all Nebraskans. We hire good people who share our sense of pride and are excited to make a difference in the lives of fellow Nebraskans.Job Duties:•Under the supervision of an experienced Electronics Technician Leader, assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of highly technical and/or specialized electronic equipment and their connectors/links to systems.•Assist with the analysis, diagnosis and repair of malfunctions and other problems with electronic equipment using schematic drawings and equipment prints.•Perform preventative maintenance of electronic equipment to ensure necessary inspection, adjustment, and replacement of parts are made to prevent malfunctions or safety hazards from occurring.•Perform physical/manual tasks to prepare work sites/stations for installation and maintenance of electronic equipment using various types of equipment such as small hand tools, fabrication machinery, portable power generators, ditching equipment, or bucket trucks.•Perform other duties as assigned.Requirements / QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: Post high school coursework, training, or experience in the installation, maintenance, or repair of radios, electronic devices/instruments, computer equipment, or other similar hardware and circuitry.Preferred Qualifications: One year of coursework completed in an electronics technology program.Other: Must be enrolled in an electronics technology program. Must have a valid driver's license or be able to provide authorized independent transportation.
