- Maintenance, repair, general PLC diagnostic programming, set-up, & troubleshooting of all electrical & electronic systems associated with automated production & warehouse equipment.
- Electrical support of equipment including basic electrical construction and maintenance of facilities.
- Will be required to answer repair calls from throughout the facility.
- Potential for minimal domestic or international travel for training.
- Works with others on a rotating shift schedule with flexibility to work as needed. Occasional daily or weekend OT is required.
- Perform preventive maintenance on stamping presses, automated pick and place systems, injection molding equipment, automated Warehouse systems, and automated assembly systems
- Support of building systems (compressors, air handlers, pumps, fans, lights, etc.)
- Adjust & replace defective or improperly functioning circuitry & electronics.
- Assemble, test, & maintain circuitry or electronic components per engineering instructions, technical manuals, & experience.
- Identify/resolve equipment malfunctions by working with manufacturers or field reps as necessary
- Maintain working knowledge of tools, hardware, software, etc., through reading &/or attending conferences, workshops or other training
- Perform preventative maintenance & calibration of production processes as scheduled.
- Recommend upgrades & enhancements to existing equipment and procedures.
- Assembling and or testing machines and equipment.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify, define & solve problems
- Evaluate proposals for sound electrical engineering practice & conformance with established safety & code compliance.
- Install & maintain electrical control systems.
- Provide technical assistance & resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during & after installation
- Perform basic electrical construction tasks (i.e. conduit bending, pulling wire, general maintenance of lights, & breaker panels, amperage & wire size calculations)
Job Requirements
- HS diploma or GED required.
- Associate in electrical related studies or completion of a DOL approved apprenticeship program emphasizing Electronics Technology is preferred.
- Equivalent military training or experience will be considered.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an automated industrial manufacturing environment focusing on maintenance & troubleshooting activities.
- Prior experience working with European machinery is preferred.
- Knowledge of equipment, tools, mechanical devices, & their uses to produce motion, light, power, & other applications
- Basic knowledge of machines & tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, & maintenance
- Experience with PC & PLC based controls, electrical schematics, servo drive systems/software, vision systems, and AC/DC drives.
- Previous experience with PLC design and troubleshooting.
- Troubleshooting experience with AC voltage up to 480V and familiarity with DC controls.
- Knowledge of hydraulic/pneumatic systems, their components & schematics
- Previous experience with electronic circuit boards & computer hardware/software
