Expected range: $34,684 - $66,253. Health and basic life insurance provided through West Virginia's Public Employees Insurance Agency. Health insurance premiums, which vary by plan and coverage level, split 80/20 between employer and employee. Basic life insurance provided at no cost to the employee. Position requires enrollment in the Teachers Retirement System through West Virginia Consolidated Public Retirement Board. New enrollees contribute 6% of gross salary with a matching contribution by the Board of 7.5%. Vestment requires 10 years of qualified service. Withdraw of employee contributions available upon leaving employment with a WV county board of education if deisred. 15.375 annual days of personal leave provided, pro-rated for those hired after the start of the current employment term. Up to 4 days may be used each school year without cause pursuant to state and local policies. Pro-rated local attendance incentive (up to $500) provided for those who use fewer than 6 days of personal leave each school year. State attendance incentive ($500) provided for those who use 4 or fewer days of personal leave each school year. Additional benefits at the employee's expense. QUALIFICATIONS Master's Degree in Education preferred. Meet qualifications as outlined in West Virginia Code 18A-4-7a. Meet minimum standards for certification as set forth by the West Virginia Board of Education in Minimum Standards for Licensure of West Virginia School Personnel. Exhibit knowledge of the duties and responsibilities of the classroom teacher and behavior interventionist with the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as demonstrated in a personal interview, which will be weighed heavily in the search/selection process. Specialized training in behavior modification and behavior management. Demonstrated experience collecting relevant data to help track and modify inappropriate behavior. Ability to develop, implement and monitor individual behavior plans. Ability to develop, implement and maintain student data collection system for students with specialized behavioral needs. Ability to create and implement a standards-based individualized education program for student needs and monitor progress through the collection of appropriate data. Maintain and participate in professional development, focusing on behavior interventions and strategies, instructional practice, MTSS, and other relevant topics as required. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others. Demonstrated ability to communicate e?ectively with students, school personnel, parents, community members, and WVDE personnel. Demonstrated ability to motivate students, set high academic standards, and incorporate behavior intervention strategies during instruction. Possess good evaluations and/or recommendations in previous work-related performance and evidence of high academic achievement in teacher preparation programs. RESPONSIBILITIES Plan, deliver, and assess academic content to assigned students (based on grade-level content standards and individual needs). Foster a classroom environment that is conducive to learning, both academically and socially. Ability and willingness to think outside the box and demonstrate innovation in classroom and behavior management. Dedication to the success of children and families. Monitor student progress towards the mastery of instructional and behavioral goals. Establish relationships and communicates with teachers, administrators, and family members. Identifies and seeks resolution for potential problems arising with any involved parties; attends all required meetings that discuss student and program progress. Demonstrate behavior that reflects established professional responsibilities (i.e. attendance, punctuality, verbal/nonverbal communication). Participate in activities, meetings, and workshops that foster professional growth specific to challenging academic and social needs of children assigned to the classroom. Comply with all local, state and federal policies/laws. Work collaboratively with others. Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or other supervisor.
