Position Type: Elementary School Teaching/ParaprofessionalDate Posted: 1/16/2024Location: Carrollton Elementary SchoolDate Available: 2023-24 School YearDistrict:Carrollton Public Schools - websiteTHE FOLLOWING POSITION IS AVAILABLE FOR 2023-24 SCHOOL YEAR CARROLLTON ELEMENTARY PARAPROFESSIONAL SUMMARY OF POSITION: The full time paraprofessional will be assigned to assist with elementary studentsREPORTS TO: Lisa Morford, Principal; Zak Zuzula, Assistant PrincipalCOMPENSATION: $13.50 (Probationary) $14.27 (After 90 days probation) As per the Paraprofessional Contract.QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to cooperate with teachers, students, and administration; work as part of a team. Shall attend required workshops and in-services. To keep all students, parents, and staff information confidential. To keep a positive attitude in working with students, parents, other staff members, and community members who visit Carrollton Public Schools facilities or programs. Demonstrate competency in technology. Cooperate with teachers, students, and administration To ensure a safe environment for students at all times. Must be willing to receive additional training to improve job skills. Other duties as assigned by the building principal or teacher. Successful completion of a probationary period outlined by the Carrollton Association of Paraprofessionals contract. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Must have an Associates' Degree, or have completed at least 2 years of study at an accredited institution of higher education (equal to 60 semester hours). If an applicant does not have either of these, they may take either the College Board's SAT (must score at least a 480 on evidence-based reading and writing and 530 on math) or take the ETS Parapro Assessment and obtain a passing score of 460. The district will cover the cost of either the SAT or ETS Parapro Assessment and the applicant will be given 90 days in order to successfully pass. Ability to lift a minimum of 75 pounds. Ability and willingness to toilet students. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Ability to work well with staff, parents, and students. Basic computer knowledge. Must be highly sensitive to students with emotional and physical disabilities. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job expectation. Ability to follow through on commitments. Must be able to work cooperatively with others. Must act in a professional manner. Must satisfactorily pass: Law enforcement background check with fingerprinting.Personal and professional reference background check. Must receive a satisfactory response to a P.A.189 letter (Misconduct Law). Must have a valid driver's license and meet requirements to operate District vehicles.
