Position Purpose Under the general supervision of the Superintendent of Schools, to provide leadership and supervision in administering the educational program of an Elementary School in order to promote the educational development and achievement of students in accordance with Board of Education policies, administrative procedures, rules and regulations, and applicable law. To provide leadership in program development and improvement, as well as in professional staff development.
Essential Functions - Coordinates the various aspects of school-community relations, staff development and instructional programs to establish sound educational programming for students.
- Models and enforces district policies and school regulations within the building.
- Works with others to develop the master schedule to maximize efficient operations.
- Oversees the implementation of curriculum, courses of study, and appropriate classroom procedures that will improve educational programming.
- Collaborates with district office leadership in the recruitment and selection of both professional and support staff members.
- Ensures compliance with, and adherence to, all federal, state, local and district regulations, as well as the District comprehensive plan.
- Supervises the administration of all federal, state and local assessments, according to regulations.
- Provides instructional leadership for the staff regarding data collection, review and analyses in order to improve student growth and achievement.
- Provides guidance to the instructional staff in understanding, interpreting and applying educational research in order to enhance or support the district's educational goals.
- Supervises and evaluates all assigned personnel regarding the efficiency and effectiveness of their performance and service, in accordance with district and/or state guidelines.
- Assists the staff in enforcing School Board policies and the student code of conduct.

SCOPE AND IMPACT
- This position accomplishes most of its tasks through diversified operating procedures. Internal contacts include the Board and district employees. The external contacts include outside organizations, parents and the community.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's and Masters Degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in School Administration.
- A minimum of five years teaching experience, preferably in more than one grade level.
- Knowledge or exposure to curriculum development, experience as assistant principal, department head, lead teacher or supervisor preferred. Proper State certification from Pennsylvania Department of Education.
