Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work as part of the instructional team to implement and exceed state learning standards and district curriculum and assessments to meet rigorous academic expectations.
- Learn, master, and deliver content and grade-level curriculum, core content objectives, and texts.
- Create, submit, and internalize weekly lesson plans.
- Implement formal and informal assessments to track each scholars progress and learning needs, adjust lesson plans accordingly and update the grade book weekly.
- Use of technology as a communication and educational tool to improve scholar achievement and manage work-related tasks.
- Implement a clear and consistent behavior management system that aligns with the districts commitment to restorative practices and a zero suspension policy.
- Participate in regular manager check-ins, grade-level meetings, before and after-school duties, and school-wide meetings and functions.
- Attend summer and year-long district, school, and personal development training.
- Utilize the knowledge from professional development to improve instructional practices in the classroom.
- Help shape and develop a school-wide culture that fosters a safe and nurturing learning environment for all scholars.
- Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with scholars and families
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Current Texas credential in the subject area applying for (or information indicating your eligibility to receive one).
- Demonstrate competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- A minimum of two years of teaching experience
- Previous success working with second language learners and scholars from diverse backgrounds
- Native Spanish fluency is desired but not required
- Texas ESL certification preferred (additional stipend)

- Hold all scholars to the highest expectations to ensure college readiness
- Ability to use data to inform instructional practices
- Excellent classroom management and teaching skills
- Experience in collaboratively developing lesson and unit plans
Compensation and Benefits:
We offer a comprehensive benefits plan, covering most of the employee premium for the base medical plan and subsidizing costs for a spouse/domestic partner and children.
