Requirements:Education: Bachelor's Degree in and endorsements in the area(s) of teaching assignment. Current/valid South Dakota Teaching Certificate.Experience: Successful student teaching.Physical Requirements: Constant hand-eye/mind-eye coordination. Frequent walking, keyboarding, speaking, writing, bending, carrying, pushing, pulling, sitting, and turning. Some lifting up to 30 lbs. Skills in human relations, leadership and conflict management. Knowledge of teaching techniques that meet the diverse needs of students. Training in assessment and interpretation of information.Essential Functions & Duties:
- Plan instructional tasks that are meaningful and related to learning goals.
- Implement district curriculum.
- Implement specialized instruction utilizing researched strategies and interventions based on the needs of the students.
- Maintain a strong instructional focus utilizing the elements of effective instruction.

- Case manage student individual education programs (IEPs) to meet specialized needs of students with disabilities.
- Coordinate special education documentation regarding the special education process including referral, evaluation, IEP development and implementation, and related processes in compliance with district, state, and federal requirements including timelines.
- Participate in IEP meetings and communicate with parents on a routine basis to keep them informed of their child's progress.
- Maintain student special education records and related information as required by law and in a confidential manner.
