ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operating the mill at peak efficiency and specifications.
- Perform maintenance on the mill and all elevator equipment in accordance with the facility's preventative maintenance program
- Perform repairs as needed on the mill and elevator equipment to ensure consistent and timely operations of delivery and distribution of grain; employees will be required to work on elevated equipment, so fear of heights is a consideration
- Monitor equipment performance and report malfunctions or potential issues to supervisors
- Assist with the loading and unloading of commodities during seasonally busy periods
- Perform housekeeping duties including power washing, sweeping, and shoveling of grain bins and other related facilities
- Operate grain elevator equipment and receive incoming commodities
- Assist in inspecting and monitoring commodity quality
- Maintain a professional attitude with a mindset of continuous improvement
- Follow any and all company safety policies and report unsafe conditions to supervisors
- Fill in for fellow employees on an as needed basis
- Maintain a positive attendance record by demonstrating consistent and punctual attendance on a regular basis
- Perform other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICIATIONS:
- Maintain a valid driver's license
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Have the ability to work in a team setting as well as work independently
- Some knowledge of mechanical systems
- Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- Prior experience in repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment required.
- Welding experience preferred.
- Prior grain elevator millwright experience preferred
