This is a funded non-union elevator company that is looking for an Elevator Field Operations Director, in the Myrtle Beach SC area.Founded by several seasoned elevator industry executives, this company is positioned to grow quickly in the Southeastern United States and they are looking to hire for someone who wants to grow with them. In this important role the successful candidate will assist in supporting and growing the business. As the Director of Elevator Field Operations for Modernization projects, you will directly support field functions of the organization (maintenance, modernization, and repair). As the company grows, the canddiate will be responsible to hire and manage other field personnel. This is a great opportunity for an individual to get in on the ground floor of a start-up enterprise and share in its success.They need a strong technical leader who is willing to learn the elevator industry from the ground up. You will need to show you have the hands on electro-mechanical skills to learn how to work directly with tools as necessary and supervise manpower in the areas of maintenance, modernization and repair activities. You will work directly for the General Managers of two operations and the President, and VP of Field Operations to ensure that all goals are met concerning customer satisfaction and quality, so strong communication and customer facing skills are required for this role. This position will also have direct and supervisor responsibility. You will need to start out as a leader and manage the overall processes for maintenance and sales, making the process more efficient. You will need to ask questions and determine what is working and what is not working and make changes as needed.This position will be based out of Myrtle Beach area (possibly Charleston) and your team will work on modernization projects in SC. There is some overnight travel, probably 10-20% at most. 60% of your time will be on sites and 40% will be in your office in Myrtle Beach. You do get a company vehicle and most of the projects will be day trips and you are home at night.They need someone with strong leadership experience over teams of technical service technicians. They will train you in what you need to know about elevators, but they need someone who has a strong technical background in hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, and electrical, as this background will make it easier to learn about elevators and lead this team. You and your team will be responsible for performing complex maintenance, repair, and modernization tasks on elevators and supporting troubleshooting related problems. As the business grows, you will hire and supervise additional technicians and helpers. Project Management, critical path, process improvement and an understanding of discipline in handling your team are important skill sets for this role.The successful candidate will be required to earn a CET (certified elevator technician) certification within a 2-4 year period (this is a self-paced on line class and they need someone who is serious about learning and staying in the elevator industry, who can take the test ASAP).- Support the sales organization with customer sales, as necessary, and support the estimating process- Manage and support maintenance routines and routing- Determine best the geographical routing and aligning of manpower as necessary- Conduct maintenance and open order repairs as necessary- Hire helper support, as business needs grow- Manage and perform all material orders to minimize shipment costs and reorders- Interface directly with customers to build relationships and ensure customer satisfaction- Input all information into the company customer information system- Review outstanding repairs and modernization projects with the President, General Managers and field leads to assure accurate and profitable scheduling, resources, and completion of all workBase salary, $80K - $100K DOE, a company vehicle, full benefits that are 70% company paid after 60 days, and a 401k with 3% match.Small growing company in the Southeast that is looking for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit who wants to grow with them.
