About the Role: Our Elixir® Strings team is looking for a Troubleshooter / Machine Operator for 2nd shift who will be responsible for operating high speed automated and manually operated machines, and slitting equipment that produce Elixir® Strings for musicians around the world. At times the candidate will partner with technical, skill trades, and Continuous Improvement teams to implement process improvements in the Performance Solutions Division. Standard hours are Monday afternoon - Friday evening, 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. This role will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland.
Pay and Benefits: - $19.00 - $31.00 per hour
- This role is eligible for an additional $2/hour shift differential pay for evening, night, and weekend shifts (in California, the shift differential pay is $2.40/hour).

Responsibilities:
- Make machine adjustments, replace broken parts, and perform PM's to keep machines running to maximize throughput and yield; record process data and submit shop work orders
- Perform set-up, inspection, and operation of multiple automated and manual machines, along with recording process data, while achieving efficient throughput standards for automated and manual string assembly
- Utilize quality system and maintain understanding of relevant procedures and SOPs
- Partner with the shop, engineering, and CI teams to help identify opportunities for improvement and participate in continuous improvement initiatives including championing projects
- Learn new processing technologies quickly to consistently increase production levels to meet demand
- Follow and support all environmental, health, and safety requirements in work area as well as actively reporting all near misses and unsafe conditions
- Be a flexible, reliable teammate in a dynamic fast paced production environment
- Read and follow all process SOP's to perform set-up, inspection and operation of multiple automated and manual machines
- Willingness to work overtime as needed and be flexible in work hours to meet business demand requirements

Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated skill as a machine operator in a fast pace automated manufacturing environment
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- General knowledge of all types of hand tools
- Basic math and computer skills
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement required
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to provide outstanding customer service
- Ability to work overtime as identified by the business and capable of receiving training on any shift
- Ability to prioritize workload and multitasking
- Ability to occasionally lift 30 lbs. and work in a standing position for prolonged periods of time during shift
Desired Qualifications:
- Demonstrated skill as a high-performance Elixir ® Strings machine operator or have formal training or equivalent experience working with mechanical, electrical and pneumatic equipment and experience with equipment PM programs
