OverviewThe Enhanced 911 Board seeks a self-motivated individual for the position of Emergency Communications Training Coordinator (ECTC). The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Board's Training and Communications Program Manager to develop, implement and maintain the Board's 911 call-taker training programs, quality control program, public education and outreach programs, as well as advance and support wellness initiatives for the emergency communications community.The ECTC works with, and under the direction of, the Training and Communications Program Manager to ensure all Board training and communications initiatives align with national standards, industry best practice and Board policies and directives. You must apply online to be considered.Environmental FactorsDuties are performed largely in an office and classroom setting. Telework requests will be considered following the probationary period, or sooner, as determined by the Training and Communications Program Manager and approved by the Executive Director. Private means of transportation must be available for required in-state travel should the use of a Fleet Management Vehicle not be appropriate or available. Frequent interaction with other trainers and training contractors/consultants requires tact and diplomacy. Frequent work schedule changes may be required, as are overnight stays and occasional weekend job related events or work that is time sensitive. Minimum QualificationsThree (3) years or more of experience as an emergency communications dispatcher, emergency communications staff trainer, emergency management, or as a full-time first responder with administrative responsibilities.Preferred QualificationsCurrent Instructor Certification from nationally recognized emergency communications organization for Emergency Medical Dispatch, Public Safety Telecommunicator, Fire Telecommunicator or Certified Training Officer.Experience with development and delivery of training curriculum.Experience in emergency communications.Experience in management, supervision, or team lead. Special RequirementsInstructor level certification in required courses must be achieved within 3 months of job entry or at the first possible opportunity as determined by the Training and Communications Program Manager. Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position to include security clearance and/or finger-print supported criminal record check.Total CompensationAs a State employee you are offered a great career opportunity, but it's more than a paycheck.
