Partial Relocation The Director of Emergency Department provides both clinical and administrative leadership, driving excellence in emergency medicine and aligning departmental operations with the organization's mission, vision, and standards. This role plays a pivotal part in the strategic implementation of nursing services, ensuring the highest standards of care for patients, while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Qualifications:
- Lead and engage staff in developing and implementing nursing and organizational policies.
- Maintain accountability for the delivery of high-quality services, ensuring that patient care meets organizational and professional standards.
- Supervise and evaluate the performance of emergency department personnel, promoting a culture of excellence and professional growth.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of nursing services with other healthcare disciplines.
- Oversee recruitment, selection, and retention efforts to build a highly skilled and dedicated workforce.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field required; Associate Degree with equivalent competencies and active enrollment in a baccalaureate program considered.
- Master's degree preferred.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of clinical practice experience in emergency medicine, with a minimum of 1-2 years in a leadership role.
Certifications and Licenses:
- Current RN license in Iowa or a compact state nursing license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification to be obtained within one year of hire.
