RequirementsRole: Emergency DispatchStatus: Full-Time, Seasonal, HourlyReporting: Director of Snow SafetyResponsible for information collection/dissemination/recording and resource allocation/dispatch to support all Powder Mountain and Powder Haven operations in regard to daily snow quality, resource allocation, emergency response, and on mountain safety scenarios. Responsibilities:
  • Clearly relay valuable information via radio and telephone to all appropriate and necessary staff members.
  • Communicate clearly with County Dispatch, local Search and Rescue organizations, air ambulance resources and local hospitals
  • Expect to be the communication hub for all updates such as lift open/closures, road open/closures, and guest service announcements.
  • Keep accurate and up to date daily, weekly and seasonal Dispatch logs.
  • Be highly knowledgeable about Powder Mountain terrain, location, and lift titles.
  • Quickly and accurately process and record information obtained through phone, radio and/or in person communications and. initiate appropriate response and/or course of action during typical daily operation as well as, times of crisis.
  • Work closely with Snow Safety and assist with coordination of snow safety operations during early morning avalanche missions.
  • Complete administrative tasks, such as documentation and communication via Google platform.
  • Willingness to advance ones' skill set and improve dispatch processes through continuing education and on the job experiences
Qualifications:
  • Broad base of clerical and office management knowledge and skills .
  • The aptitude to make decisions quickly and calmly in emergent and non-emergent scenarios.
  • Ability to come in early on a scheduled or unscheduled shift on heavy snowstorm mornings to assist with Snow Safety Dispatch and high traffic communication needs.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Capability to learn a wide variety of information about department operations quickly.
  • Remain calm in an emergency situation.
  • Strong ability to clearly relay specific details in verbal communication.
  • Commitment to adhering to Powder Mountains appearance and attendance standards.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate amount of weight (up to 50lbs+).
  • Sufficient physical ability and mobility to walk, sit for prolonged periods of time.
