Job DescriptionPlan, design, execute, and train staff as part of the Emergency Preparedness training and exercise program. All training and exercise program deliveries will be designed and executed in accordance with TJC and other local, state, and federal/national regulatory agencies. Provide backup for local, state, regional, and federal reporting requirements, as well as representing Children's at local, state and national emergency management events as needed.
Experience- A minimum of 2 years of experience in delivering/managing emergency services training and exercise programs (in addition to education/experience requirement in Education section)
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Management, or related degree
- Georgia State General Instructor Certification, with POST Certification
Education- Associates Degree in Emergency Services, or related degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in related field
Certification Summary- Current and valid Georgia State driver's license
- Successful completion of the Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program (HSEEP) prior to employment
- Successful completion of Hospital Decontamination Instructor Certification by the State of Georgia within 1 year of employment (as offered)
- DRIVERS LC - Driver's License (DRIVERS LC)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Knowledge of federal, state, and local standards and codes; requirements of regulatory and accreditation agencies and standard operating procedures
- Knowledge of building, life safety, and National Fire Protection Association codes
- Knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act and Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards and Joint Commission requirements
- Excellent record keeping and records management skills
- Ability to assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands
- Knowledge of standard software applications, i.e., Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point
- Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, TJC, NFPA and Emergency Management principles
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Effective decision-making /problem-solving skills, demonstration of creativity in problem-solving
Job ResponsibilitiesTraining- Serves as the principal designer/instructor for the Emergency Preparedness training program for the healthcare system including but not limited to HazMat Decon Training, Incident Command Training, Mass Casualty Training.
- Coordinates the delivery of individual departmental emergency management training as required by function and/or regulation.
Exercise- Plan, Design, and Deliver the CMS Required Emergency Management training program within the system on an annual basis.
- Develop After Action Reports for exercise deliveries and maintain ongoing Improvement Planning matrix.
Emergency Management Support- Provide coordination and support for emergency incidents throughout the facility including but not limited to coordination of Hazmat and MCI type events.
- Supports the development of After-Action Reports following planned and unplanned events.
- Participates in the annual review/updates for all Emergency Preparedness plans and meetings.
- Collaborates with the Safety Department regarding the documentation, planning and training related to hazardous materials.
- Acts as the backup representation at required local, state, and national emergency management meetings and events.
- Acts as the Emergency Management Liaison within the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), when activated.
