The role requires a skilled leader with a strong background in emergency nursing and management, who is also willing to work across the Freestanding and Main Campus ERs. Job specificationCandidate requirementsJob specification Oversee daily operations of the ER, ensuring efficient patient admissions, discharges, and throughput. Collaborate with management and subject matter experts to foster a culture of teamwork and improve clinical outcomes. Support staff development through hiring, training, and performance evaluations, while addressing conflict resolution and compliance. Implement strategies to enhance patient satisfaction, including service recovery, hourly rounding, and employee engagement initiatives. Manage scheduling, labor, and inventory control to ensure optimal staffing and resource allocation. Candidate requirements Active RN license in Virginia (or multi-state compact license with eligibility to practice in Virginia). Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. BLS certification upon hire; ACLS and PALS certification within 6 months post-hire. TNCC certification preferred. Prior experience as an ER Manager, Coordinator, or Charge Nurse is required. Must have prior ER nursing experience and a willingness to float between Freestanding and Main Campus ERs.
