CorrectHealth currently has an exciting opportunity to join our growing team as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in Houma, LA!12 hr shifts - 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.Competitive Salary offered up to $21/hrCorrectHealth is a multi-disciplinary medical organization that provides high quality, cost-effective, comprehensive healthcare inside the walls of correctional facilities. In doing so, we have developed the right way - the Correct Way as we like to call it - of providing correctional healthcare.Currently, CorrectHealth provides high quality, cost-effective, comprehensive healthcare services inside the walls of more than 40 correctional facilities throughout Georgia and Louisiana,ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Assist in providing health care to inmates.2. Assist in performing intake physical examinations to all newlyincarcerated inmates.3. Assist in the passing of medications to inmates.4. Assist in responding to medical emergencies.5. Advise appropriate personnel on any inmates that need to beclassified as a medical risk.6. Comply with Medical Department directives pertaining tobloodborne and airborne pathogens and the disposal ofcontaminated materials and supplies.7. Practice proper medical record keeping.8. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.Required License or Certification: EMTPossess and maintain current and valid certification from an approved school showing completion of basic E.M.T. criteria.Possess and maintain current E.M.T. license with the State of Louisiana.Current certification to practice as a EMT in the state of employment. American Heart Association BLS. American Heart Association ACLS.
