Job Overview: Workfit Medical is seeking a skilled and compassionate TRAVEL Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Medicine team in the Greater Buffalo area. This position offers an opportunity to work with a diverse patient population, responding to a wide range of medical emergencies. If you are looking to get started quickly on a 8-13 week assignment up to $2500/week Overtime potential Quick start Evenings/Nights Key Responsibilities: Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department. Assess, triage, and prioritize patient care based on acuity and severity of illness or injury. Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with hospital protocols and physician orders. Monitor and evaluate patient progress, documenting care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR). Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Assist in emergency interventions, including CPR, advanced airway management, and trauma care. Educate patients and their families on care plans, treatments, and discharge instructions. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment in the Emergency Department. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing education to stay current with best practices in emergency nursing. Qualifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) considered. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in emergency or critical care nursing preferred. BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required. PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. Ability to work in a high-stress environment while maintaining composure and providing compassionate care. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
