We offer training in-house to help you succeed in becoming a dispatcher. Must have a high school education or equivalent and no criminal convictions. Applicants must possess a valid driver's license. Essential qualities for a 911 Dispatcher include active listening skills, multi-tasking, good written and verbal communication. Dispatchers need to demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks based on importance and urgency while remaining calm. Under supervision, this job requires the Dispatcher to operate a radio and computer equipment, while processing phone calls and radio traffic. Job Duties Include: • Answering emergency and non-emergency phone lines • Obtaining pertinent information to pass along to responders • Operating radio and computer equipment • Provides standardized emergency medical instructions to callers using a medical protocol • Making decisions in a timely manner with little information • Work with Police, Fire and EMS agencies • Assisting public and other agencies with disaster responses • Demonstrates regular attendance • Operate NCIC/LEADS inquires as requested by Law Enforcement agencies Location : DEPT OF PUBLIC SAFETY SERVICES Posting Start : 11/25/2024 Posting End : 12/31/2024
