Job Description:

Established in 2013, the Northwell Health Emergency Telepsychiatry program delivers Psychiatry consultation via two-way video to emergency department patients in 17 hospitals (both within and outside the health system). There have been over 40,000 consults performed since program inception and a significant reduction in ED wait times. Telepsychiatry ensures the emergency departments throughout our system will always be equipped to manage a patient in crisis who needs psychiatric care and support.

Northwell's telepsychiatry team is made up of board-certified psychiatrists, licensed social workers and mental health counselors, and administrative support staff. This interdisciplinary team works collaboratively to provide psychiatric care to our patients at the right time. In addition to the clinical care, there are a variety of teaching opportunities with medical students and social work/mental health counselor students.
