The Direct Care/Emotional Support Specialist at Battenkill Community Services is responsible for meeting the psycho-social needs of all individuals supported in our Group Day and Community Habilitation Programs. The responsibilities of this position include: Attending team meetings and actively participating in creating LifePlan measurable goals and objectives.Providing assessments.Creating Functional Behavioral Assessments per the request of the team.Offering individual emotional support as needed, available to all staff and individuals.Providing individual counseling, group counseling, and crisis intervention services.Offering Direct Care services as needed.Providing training and guidance to all Battenkill staff working with these individuals in these areas. A Master's degree and/or working towards a Master's degree in a human service field (i.e., psychology, sociology, social work, special education, rehabilitation counseling, etc.) is required. We prefer at least one year of experience in the field and at least one year of experience working with the developmentally disabled.
