APPLICANT LISTS MAY BE SCREENED MORE THAN ONCE Why does the job exist?This position conducts investigations into alleged employee misconduct, internal complaints, and grievances, and drafts disciplinary documents. How does it get done?Plans and conducts investigations including conducting interviews and gathering/reviewing evidence.Drafts fact finding reports, disciplinary documents, internal complaint responses, and responses to union grievances. Communicates and consults with managers, supervisors, and the Office of General Counsel regarding the disciplinary process. Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate has experience in: 1) analyzing and interpreting employment laws and policies; 2) conducting investigatory interviews by utilizing multiple recording methods and transcribing statements; 3) compiling detailed fact finding reports and investigative records; 4) writing comprehensive disciplinary actions; 5) dealing effectively and efficiently with friendly and adverse persons in multiple levels of an organization. Minimum QualificationBachelor's Degree in any related field and two (2) years of experience related to human resources operations, conducting investigations, documenting findings and disciplinary actions, collective bargaining, or problem resolution. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience. No substitutions apply for semester hours.Employment RequirementsMust possess a current and valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and conditional pending results. Working ConditionsWork is performed in an office setting: late hours and weekends work may be required. Will be exposed to regular periods of video display terminal and keyboard usage and stressful situations. Travel may be required. Incumbent will work under stress and frequent time constraints.
