If you're optimistic, forward-thinking, and interested in shaping the future of travel with us, we'd love to hear from you.Your PurposeThe Employee Relations Specialist, reporting to the Director of People & Culture, is responsible for the intake, guidance, and resolution of inquiries and concerns regarding policies, procedures, and varied workplace issues from teammates. This position participates in ensuring Operations, Guest Experience and Rail Operations, compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws, Company Policy, and Code of Business Conduct and Ethics. The Employee Relations Specialist compiles, reviews, tracks data, and prepares reports for analysis. This role is also responsible for multiple levels of administrative support within the HR department.Your RoleInquiries and Investigations
  • Handle a high volume of inquiries from teammates and management regarding policies, procedures, and varied workplace issues.
  • Conduct thorough and timely investigations of teammate concerns received via phone, email, and website, documents findings, and make sound recommendations to all levels of management.
  • Request and review security footage related to teammate interactions and determine appropriate actions needed.
Platform and System Management
  • Maintain the AllVoices platform and assist P&C Business Partners with timely responses.
  • Retrieve and analyze reports and data from various internal systems (UKG, AllVoices, etc.) on teammate relations, metrics, and trends for management review.
Claims and Compliance
  • Research, process, and provide guidance to management regarding workers compensation claims and procedures.
  • Compile data and track trends for workplace issues and compliance reviews.
Accommodation and Guidance
  • Review and process accommodation requests ensuring appropriate documentation is received and partners with leaders for approval.
  • Partners with the P&C Business Partners to provide guidance on teammate relations issues.
Communication and record-keeping
  • Retrieves email from the HR Mailbox and responds or escalates as appropriate.
  • Maintains accurate and confidential records of teammate relations cases.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a closely related degree; a combination of experience and education may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a Human Resources department
  • Experience effectively conducting complex workplace investigations, in a high-volume environment, supporting teammates working in multiple locations
  • Strong knowledge of human resource policies/procedures and knowledge of federal employment/labor laws (i.e. ADAAA, FMLA, FLSA, etc.)
  • Demonstrated use of judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, procedures, regulations or state & federal employment laws
  • Ability to comprehend compliance, internal audit, and training/development policies
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and communicate Company policy and the Business Code of Conduct and Ethics
  • Experience communicating and delivering recommendations to all levels of management
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Excellent, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Ability to work from the field and travel between Brightline's footprint from Miami to Orlando as needed.
  • Bilingual: English & Spanish
