You will connect job candidates with employers to fulfill our mission of developing a well-educated, well-trained, and self-sufficient workforce that can confidently compete in today's changing global marketplace. In this role, the Employer Engagement Specialist will cultivate opportunities with local employers to meet their hiring demands. The Employer Engagement Specialist will have a strong understanding of the sales process and excel at generating leads, building relationships, and closing deals. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner who has strong negotiating skills and an ability to showcase candidates in a compelling way. Often tasked with giving presentations and attending networking events and trade shows, the Employer Engagement Specialist must be both personable and professional. The Employer Engagement Specialist will conduct sales meetings with prospective clients, write proposals, gain approvals, and present those proposals to prospective clients, including C-level executives, business owners, and other decision-makers in midsize businesses in the community.ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan: Develop an annual plan to hit targets in a defined territory, typically covering multiple regions and a diverse portfolio of industries, all centered around larger businesses with 5-99 employees.
- Prospect: Consistently work on building a balanced pipeline of target prospects through traditional means of prospecting (cold calling, email, phone, LinkedIn) as well as building and leveraging a diverse group of partners to provide referrals and business development opportunities.
- Qualifying opportunities: Strong understanding of the target market and decision-making personas will help to qualify or disqualify quickly.
- Value & Consultative Selling: Establish a trusted advisor relationship, both inside of The WorkPlace and within the prospect's decision-making system, to effectively gain successful business and long-term client relationships.
- Sales tools and systems: Utilize Sales systems including KEAP to efficiently and effectively manage daily activities
- Complete all administrative tasks and duties in a timely manner.
- Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the manager's discretion.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for own work and not required to direct or supervise other personnel but may occasionally instruct or show another employee how to perform the work.QUALIFICATIONS Self-starter with strong organizational and 'people skills' to connect candidates with employment opportunities. Strong ability to understand employer needs and to present quality talent professionally and successfully. Ability to pivot from strategic thinking/planning to actionable tasks and solutions in a fast-paced, outcome-driven environment.
- Sales experience/talent acquisition experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of business databases
- Comfortable making outgoing phone calls to businesses/employers.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a four-year college. 3-5 years of professional work experience in talent sourcing/workforce development programming. HR or sales experience is highly desirable.Strong computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel, and Outlook) and experience working with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).Experience and familiarity with LinkedIn, Indeed, and other online tools to connect employers with our candidates.Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
