Employment Coordinator - TennesseeThe Charles Lea Center is Looking to Hire a Full-time Employment CoordinatorThe Employment Coordinator works under the general direction of the Director of Supportive Living Services and is responsible for identifying and securing job placement by matching the person's employment skill level with their job interest. Will develop career advancement opportunities for people supported through the Charles Lea Center and Tennessee Department of Disability and Aging (ADA). To initiate, manage referrals and outreach opportunities to support employment skill training with competitive employment being the overall goal. Using a unique approach built around person-centered, employment first, and technology first thinking. We are looking for an Employment Coordinator grounded in person-centered thinking, who can foster a creative and forward-thinking approach to providing services in Tennessee.The Charles Lea Center is a CQL accredited organization that is based in Spartanburg South Carolina and provides services in South Carolina, and North Carolina and recently was awarded a contract with the Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities to provide services in their State. QUALIFICATIONS: At least 18 years of ageAbility to pass a background check upon hireValid driver's license REQUIREMENTS: Associate's degree in human services or a related field or a High School Diploma plus three (3) to five (5) years with relevant experience (highly preferred) with at least six months of experience working with individuals with ID and or DD and or physical disabilities or older adults (for choices), where work included teaching skills/tasks in an employment setting (preferred)Knowledge and practice of person-centered services and general understanding of the Tennessee DIDD system preferredAttain ACRE Professional Certification within one year of employment in the TN residential departmentTravel for recruiting, meetings, and job placement efforts Are you able to work independently as well as with a team? A DAY AS AN EMPLOYMENT COORDINATOR: As the Employment Coordinator, you will assist people supported in achieving their career goals by implementing person-centered employment/vocational plans.Work with businesses, agencies, and organizations to increase education around hiring people with disabilities and remove employment barriers related to community integration and independence.Participate in pre-employment job training sessions with employers to effectively ascertain training supports for each DDA or MCO placement.Communicate effectively with interagency personnel, stakeholders, and other natural supports to assure a clear understanding of each supported person's progress and needs for continued support and successful job experience.Follow the Standards, regulations required by Tennessee Department of Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities, and ensure that all relevant policy and procedures are adhered to in the programs.
