Job DetailsJob LocationMain Campus Locations - Atlanta, GAEducation LevelBachelor DegreeJob CategoryEducationDescriptionSkyland Trail, a nonprofit mental health residential treatment program for adults and adolescents in Atlanta, is seeking an Employment & Education Specialist Scope: The Employment and Education Specialist is responsible for assisting Skyland Trail clients in co-creating a plan to engage in meaningful community involvement that is consistent with their values, goals, and recovery. The Employment and Education Specialist will utilize introductory vocational assessment methods (individual sessions and small group facilitation). The Employment and Education Specialist will provide quality, respectful, supportive, and solution-focused services. This position works closely with clients and the Employment and Education Services Coordinator, along with other members of the clinical and adjunctive teams.Duties:
- Work with clients to co-create a plan for the implementation of the clients vocational goals
- Directly support clients through assessments, individual sessions, and group facilitation
- Assist with the Work Adjustment program, which facilitates paid and unpaid client positions
- Participate in daily interdisciplinary team meetings
- Complete all documentation within 24 hours and maintain all records as necessary
- Assist with the coordination, scheduling, and planning of all campus-based VS activities including announcements, reminders, and communication to all clients, staff, and other participants
- Attend all required trainings, educational in-services, and seminars related to job specialty
- Meet with department Coordinator weekly for a recurring VS staff meeting
- Occasionally provide a subset of more intensive client services which include brokering relationships in the community, providing education and support to external organizations, or negotiating accommodations on the clients behalf.
- Complete assessments for vocational services for each client and Strong Interest Inventory assessments as needed.
- Contribute to all clients individual treatment plans.
- Contribute to the adaptability and resilience of the Vocational Services department
- Other duties as assigned

- Ability to formulate a 90 day plan with clients to prepare for next steps vocationally
- Knowledge of CPR & First Aid Procedures, and knowledge of emergency procedures (Training available upon being hired)
- Knowledge of and compliance with HIPAA standards and Confidentiality Policies

- Minimum: Bachelors degree in related field (Vocational Rehabilitation, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, etc.), and/or one (1) + years clinical experience in the mental health or vocational counseling field
- Preferred: Masters degree in related field preferred, and two (2) + years of experience in vocational rehabilitation field, preferably with the chronically mentally ill population
