POSITION SUMMARY : Rappahannock Goodwill Industries is searching for an Employment Specialist I who will be responsible for assisting visitors with their job search and use of equipment in the Resource Room. They will assess and connect customers with the appropriate workforce resources, programs and partners. This individual will manage the Ready to Work Program. This position will be in Charlottesville. ESSENTIAL DUTIES : Greet Visitors. Assist all visitors with equipment use. Briefly assess needs and determine appropriate referral. Provide individualized services based on participant's career plan, including resume-writing, interview prep, job search assistance, computer assistance, digital skills training. Provide program and partner oral and written information to the center. Provide concise instructions to visitors to ensure successful visit. Assist in collecting monthly data on center services Collaborate & work alongside partners & stakeholders Distribute evaluation and other materials as appropriate. Attend scheduled staff meetings Responsible for management of Ready to Work Program, including recruiting, enrolling and guiding individuals to successful completion. All other duties as assigned POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Education/Training: Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 1+ year's equivalent experience in social work/rehabilitation, working with individuals with barriers to employment area preferred. 1+ years' experience in conducting/supervising training programs with knowledge of principles and techniques of development and implementation of training strategies a plus. Good written and verbal communication skills. Strong digital skills including Microsoft Office Suite, cloud-based computing, and online data-tracking systems. Strong organizational and time management skills. Valid Virginia Driver's License (driving record must be acceptable to RGI's insurance carrier). This position is contingent upon the successful completion of a Virginia State Police, Department of Social Services, and Department of Motor Vehicle background checks or any other required background checks required by the mission services program. Physical Demands : Ability to stand and move around for extended periods. Ability to climb, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle, carry, push, pull, and lift objects up to 35 pounds. Working Conditions : Office environment with occasional travel (including use of personal car) and variable work schedule.
