DescriptionThe incumbent in this position will primarily be responsible for networking in the community to develop jobs for people with disabilities; communicating with Department of Rehabilitation Services (DARS) and the Department of Blind Services (DBS) counselors regarding consumers (disabled/severely disabled population served); perform job and site task analysis to determine appropriate referral partner and/or need for accommodation of the same; conducts planning meetings for new consumers regarding monthly placements, assist employers with providing necessary accommodations for consumers to perform job duties effectively; communicate the Manager of Mission Services regarding caseload as needed.This individual will maintain case notes on the current system for each consumer's case worked on a daily basis; performs job coach duties in the absence of the job coach (s); including but not limited to: training consumers on various job duties/workplace policies and procedures/social skills/safe and efficient operation of equipment, etc.; performing Job Readiness Training; advocating for consumers in the workforce to promote successful relationships between employers and employees.The ideal candidate will be skilled in developing and maintaining professional, cooperative relations with local businesses and agencies; interested in assisting individuals seeking to achieve sustainable employment while overcoming varied disabilities. The candidate may also carry a caseload of up to 15 - 20 consumers.DESCRIPTION
- Provide updates to ES Coordinator on a consistent basis regarding Employment Services consumers
- Analyze information from interviews, educational and medical records, consult with other professionals
- Perform Job Readiness Training
- Perform back up Job Coaching duties as needed
- Create, review and edit benchmarks prior to Consumer signing
- Ensure Benchmarks are met and submitted timely
- Notify ES Coordinator of job coaching needs
- Participate in Division staff meetings and provide updates on consumers
- Assist consumer with transportation training and set-up
- Audit and maintain the master file of each consumer on your caseload
- Other duties such as WAT/PSAT or Good Assist coverage as assigned by Manager/Director of Mission Services
Minimum QualificationsQualified individuals must have a high school diploma or GED; in addition to an Associate's degree in a related field of study (rehabilitation, business, marketing, or a related human services field); two years related experience; Or a Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S) in a related field of study (rehabilitation, business, marketing, or a related human services field; one year of related experience. A valid TXDL/driving record acceptable to agency liability carrier is required for this position; ability to lift up to 25lbs. Essential FunctionsTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to communicate effectively orally, in writing and electronically; supervise staff providing services to consumers with varying disabilities; conduct situational assessments, proofread and verify confidential documentation; provide secure storage of confidential files; organize, plan and prioritize work; make decisions and solve problems; work with outside agencies.
