- 18+ years old
- ACRE certification OR ability to earn one within 3 months of hire - we can assist you!

A DAY AS OUR EMPLOYMENT SPECIALISTAs a full-time Employment Specialist, you work around 30 hours/week, which is considered full time here at TURN. Typically the schedule is from Monday - Friday during the day. Flexibility is required to meet clients' needs.You work closely with individuals with disabilities to assess their strengths, teach them new skills, and help them find employment. Before you can help our students, you need to find them. You participate in outreach activities to engage with the community and encourage people to enroll in our program. As students sign up, you perform assessments to gauge where individuals excel and where they can improve. Then, you develop lessons for subjects like life skills or vocational training and present them to the students.You also engage with local business owners and community members to find and create job opportunities for our students. Encouraging independence, you help students learn how to use transportation, gain valuable job skills, and apply for additional resources and support. You also train other team members as needed.ABOUT USTURN Community Services was founded in 1973 by a group of parents who wanted better services for their adult children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
