Job Description:
Flexible hours including weeks to be available to job coach. Schedule flexes based on the employment contractsWill work in both Coshocton and Cambridge Full Time Available. Primary Responsibilities:Oversee the development of employment opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities while establishing trusting, collaborative relationships directed toward the goal of competitive employment in community settings.Assessment of the person's skills and development of an individualized employment action plan, identifying appropriate short and long-term employment objectives and obtainable employment goals.Provide job development and job search activities directed toward positions that are individualized to the interests and uniqueness of the people served. Activities may include resume and cover letter writing, completing employment applications, contacting employers, online job searching, and conducting interviews.Provide on-the-job supports then follow-up retention services to placement by conducting on-site visits and maintaining contact with supervisors and person receiving services. Assess the need for accommodations in the workplace. Provide education and support to employers as agreed upon by person served, which may include negotiating job accommodations and follow-along contact with the employer.Assist individuals with learning how his/her benefits will be affected by earned income.Coordinate referrals (such as Rehabilitation Services Administration and other community resources) and provide follow-up information to referring agencies and funding sources. Provide program information as needed.Work with the professional staff to evaluate individuals' present abilities, progress and potential. When applicable, develop an open line of communication for pertinent information about persons served with co-workers, care givers, employers, and other identified team members.Follow and document the outcomes, goals and activities scheduled for each individual. Update, maintain and complete documentation as required by RHDD and regulatory agencies and submits documentation/billing in a timely manner.When needed, address and assist in the individual's personal needs as needed, including dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, positioning or medical needs.Report evidence of abuse, neglect and other health and safety issues (including but not limited to potential MUI's) immediately to supervisor (utilize agency emergency on-call system after hours). Complete incident reports and give to supervisor timely for review.Interact with the people we serve and co-workers in a manner, including language and tone of voice, which is consistent with respect for the individual and in line with NADSP Code of Ethics.Keep Employment Services Administrator (or assigned designee) informed of any problematic issues or changes.Coordinate transportation and/or provide transportation when needed.Demonstrate awareness of and follows all safety policies and procedures and adheres to all recommended safe work practices.If applicable, implementation of the person's behavior supports plan and/or medication administration.Participate in ongoing staff development activities and follow RHDD's policies, practices and procedures.Other duties as assigned. Essential Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED, DSPaths Credential, Associates Degree and prior experience working with persons with IDD preferred.18 years of age or older per Ohio Revised Code 5123:2-2-01.Valid Driver's License (with less than six (6) points) and meets the guidelines of RHDD's commercial vehicle insurance carrier.Reliable transportation with current proof of state minimum auto insurance, position requires use of personal automobile during work hours.Computer skills necessary - Proficient in Word, Excel, corresponding via email, and performing internet searches and job research and postings.
