- DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
- The EMS System Coordinator is the healthcare professional responsible for planning, coordinating, and organizing MHEMSS (Morris Hospital EMS System) services and programs. The EMS System Coordinator is an employee of MHEMSS, and works collaboratively with the MHEMSS Medical Director, the MHEMSS Director and the pre-hospital agencies and providers associated with MHEMSS to ensure quality pre-hospital care for the citizens living in the MHEMSS region.
- QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional/Educational
- Currently licensed Registered Nurse and/or Certified Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic in the State of Illinois required.
- Completion of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (or Pediatric Emergencies for Pre-hospital Professionals), International Trauma Life Support, and/or Prehospital Trauma Life Support, and AHA Basic Life Support at a provider and/or instructor level required.
- Experience in an EMS vehicle or willing to make provisions to gain experience on the vehicle required.
- Thoroughly knowledgeable about and able to demonstrate all skills as presented in the EMT initial training programs at all levels required.
- Minimum of five years teaching experience preferred.
- EMS Lead Instructor required and Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- DCFS Mandated Reporter Certificate of Completion required.

- Ability to work effectively with others, possessing tact, discretion, and diplomacy.
- Demonstrated leadership and teaching ability.
- Ability to work under pressure.
