Job Type Full-time, Part-timeDescription EMT-BASIC RECEIVE $1,000 SIGN-ON BONUS FOR FULL TIME, $600 SIGN ON BONUS FOR PART TIME (1/2 paid at 6 months and 1/2 at 1 year) PARTNERS FOR LIFE. Competitive Pay and Benefits with the following Shift Differentials •Starting pay is $19.50 per hour - with a higher starting rate based upon years of EMT experience.•Monday-Thursday 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. $4.00 per hour•Friday, Saturday & Sunday 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. $5.00 per hour•Saturday & Sunday 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. $4.00 per hour Tuition Reimbursement •EMT-Basics with no field experience and recently attained certification are eligible for reimbursement of their EMT-Basic course tuition - up to $1,500 with half paid after six months and half after one year of employment in good standing.Join our journey - we are going places, and you are an integral part of that future. Job Description Summary Under general supervision, and in accordance with Medical Control Board's policy, procedure and protocol, performs specific tasks required for the effective and efficient care of patients in a pre-hospital setting and/or intra-facility transfers. Exhibits courteous and professional behavior while interacting with co-workers, patients, families, health care professionals, and public safety personnel. Promotes and maintains a smooth working relationship between management and employees. Operates and maintains company equipment in a safe and professional manner. Minimum Qualifications 1. Licensed as a Basic EMT by the State of Ohio Division of Emergency Medical Services and maintained in good standing.2. Must possess a current American Heart Association CPR certification and maintain in good standing.3. Paramedic employees must also possess a current American Heart Association ACLS certification, maintained in good standing.4. Must possess a valid Driver's License in state of employ, and be eligible for driving privileges based on current policies and procedures.5. Work requires comprehensive knowledge of emergency transportation procedures and a thorough understanding of their application in the medical transportation environment.6. Work requires the skills necessary to quickly and safely transport patient using available resources, prioritize requests, and assists with patient care as directed.7. Manages and copes effectively with stress related to the care of patients, families, and unpredictable situations within various care settings.8. Work requires interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with internal and external personnel in stressful situations and to act as a representative of MedCare to the public.9. Must be able to sit driving for long periods of time.10. Must demonstrate alertness at all times.11. Ability to assist in the loading and unloading of patients, on cots, up to 350+lbs. Pulling and pushing the cot in and out of the mode of transportation of the patient, maintaining the cot in a horizontal position.12. Must be able to withstand high amounts of stress in uncontrolled environments.13. Must maintain competency on assigned and alternate modes of transport.
