EMT/Security OfficerWe are seeking a caring and friendly EMT/ Security Officer at John Knox Village, a leading healthcare and life plan community located in Pompano Beach. In this role, the selected candidate will greet act as a rapid responder to emergency calls from Residents, Employees and Visitors in a efficient and professional manner. When not responding to an emergency call this position will be stationed at a gate, front desk or preforming roving duties.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Rapid response to emergency calls from a dispatcher such as requests for medical assistance following emergency response proceedings
- Assess emergency medical situation and perform physical examinations as needed
- Administer first aid treatment and other emergency care to sick or injured persons and assist with facilitating the transport to medical facilities
- Determine whether ER visit is needed
- Provide emergency medical care and other treatment pursuant to EMT certification
- Utilize necessary medical equipment to treat and ascertain the extent of injury or illness
- Complete incident reports documenting any medical response calls on campus
- Perform campus patrol and other security duties as assigned
- Observe, survey the area and report suspicious activity
POSITION SKILL REQUIREMENTSTechnical skills and Knowledge
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Possess and maintain a State Certified EMT Basic, Intermediate, or Paramedic license
- 1 to 3 years of related experience
- Must have strong attention to detail and note taking skills
- Ability to effectively manage stressful situations and more than one task at a time
- Must be able to sit, stand and patrol for long periods of time
- Ability to lift at least 100 pounds, push at least 50 pounds, and have the stamina, endurance, and flexibility to repeatedly lift, bend, and kneel.
- Have and maintain BLS through AHA

- Outstanding communication skills. Ability to read, write and speak in English.
- Able to effectively communicate via two-way radios.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm at all times.
- Demonstrated ability to be helpful, courteous and attentive.
