Job Summary and QualificationsUnder the general supervision of the Endoscopy Manager and/or Director of Surgical Services, the Endoscopy Supervisor, in accordance with the hospital policies and procedures, will coordinate and supervise the planning and implementation of, and the intra and interdepartmental activities of the unit. The Supervisor is responsible for an awareness of patient conditions and problems, and for maintaining an acceptable level of nursing care on the unit. The Supervisor assumes the responsibility of the unit, assisting the management in planning and coordinating care. The Supervisor leads customer service initiatives and assumes the functions of the Manager in his or her absence.
· You will direct optimal unit operations
· You will review unit schedule and staff appropriately
· You will demonstrate appropriate communication with physicians, staff and others and maintain professionalism
· You will evaluate performance of staff on an ongoing basis
· Assists in delivering direct patient care, and carries a patient assignment as needed
· Performs other duties as delegated.
Requirements
Education
· Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing
·Bachelor's Degree in Nursing – preferred
License & Certifications
· Registered Nurse license by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners. If compact license held, RN is required to obtain a Texas RN license within 90 days of their hire date.
· BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
· ACLS certification from the American Heart Association in accordance to SDH policy
Experience
· Two years experience in Endoscopy nursing- required
· Supervisory or Charge RN experience- preferred
