Job Summary:The Energy Conservation Specialist plays a vital role in promoting energy efficiency and sustainability by conducting energy audits for residential properties. This role involves performing a range of tasks to identify energy-saving opportunities, coordinate weatherization efforts, and facilitate communication between homeowners, tenants, and contractors. The Energy Conservation Specialist will also support government compliance, maintain client records, and contribute to the overall mission of promoting a more sustainable environment.Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities:+ Conduct Department of Energy and utility company energy audits, including heat loss calculations, blower door tests, and combustion efficiency tests.+ Perform inspections of heating systems and burner codes to ensure safety and compliance.+ Estimate job costs, calculate attic and wall insulation square footage, and determine attic ventilation requirements.+ Evaluate heating system efficiency, perform carbon monoxide testing, and adhere to A.S.H.R.A.E. ventilation standards.+ Conduct blower door and Zonal pressure testing.+ Allocate job assignments to contractors on a rotational basis.+ Act as a liaison between property owners and tenants to assist in completing support documents.+ Maintain accurate client files to track progress and ensure compliance.+ Perform on-site inspections and quality control visits as needed and accompany officials on on-site visits.+ Attend training programs as required.Skills & Qualifications:Required:+ High school diploma or GED.+ Valid driver's license and personal transportation.+ Proficiency in computer processing systems.+ Excellent organizational skills.+ Strong verbal and written communication abilities with contractors and clients.+ Self-motivated, capable of working with minimal supervision, and maintaining a professional appearance.+ Successful Completing suitable background checks within the first 30 days of employment.+ Ability to work effectively with diverse communities and underserved populations, aligning with the agency's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.Preferred or Will Train:+ Thorough knowledge of local housing construction and conservation materials, including the ability to prepare cost estimates.+ Certification as a Massachusetts State Weatherization Auditor.+ Possession of at least a 10-hour OSHA certificate.+ Lead Renovator certificate (RRP).+ Knowledge of pressure testing and Combustion Appliance Zone testingOther:Supervisory Responsibility: NoneTravel: Local Travel Required.Physical Demands:+ Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.+ Capability to push and pull items up to 50 lbs.+ Occasional crawling, kneeling, and ladder climbing.+ Regular walking, standing, and sitting.+ Use of fine and gross motor skills for assigned tasks.Work Environment:This position operates in a professional office environment and involves standard office equipment use, including computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machinesPowered by JazzHR
